About

Video Killed The Radio Star is a short-format documentary series which delves into classic Music Videos and the people who made them, through in-depth interviews with music video directors and appearances by the artists themselves. This absorbing collection is in episodic format and highlights the visual style and musical impact of some of world's greatest artistes, recalling the madness, the excess, the ideas and the genius, behind some of music's most famous videos. The initial focus of the series was on music videos from the 1980s but has increasingly featured more contemporary artists from the 1990 and 2000’s. Each episode examines the life and ideas behind some of music's most famous videos, intercutting original clips (sometimes showing rarely-seen content not originally broadcast) with views and anecdotes from the artistes and directors themsleves. The series illuminates the most exciting period in film and television history. A period that changed the way we interact with music forever.
